Venezuela is officially in the running for “South America’s Leading Culinary Destination 2026” at the World Travel Awards competing alongside Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Chile.
The nomination celebrates everything Venezuelan food has always been: heirloom arepas, pabellón criollo, slow cooked stews and sweet treats, born from a fusion of indigenous, Spanish and African roots, full of soul and history.
We’re not surprised. Since 2015, Irena Stein, founder of Alma Cocina Latina, has poured that same pride into every corner of the restaurant, bringing Venezuelan food and culture to Baltimore one dish at a time.
So while the world votes Venezuela onto the map, you don’t have to wait. Come taste what’s already being celebrated.
