Hey Bancroft. The election for City of Bancroft Mayor, City Council members and North Gem School Board is happening on Nov. 4, 2025. Today, August 29 is the deadline for completing and handing in the petition for candidancy.

I invite all candidates that filed to meet at Bancroft Trading Post on Wednesday September 3 at 7-8:00pm so the residents of Bancroft can meet you.

Fireworks are on for Pioneer Day (pending weather conditions). We are doing them at the football field/baseball diamond so we have more expenses this year. We will have music, lights and a mesh barrier for viewer safety. Plus, more fireworks.

Tammy has offered a quilt to raffle off for the Bancroft Pioneer Days 2025 celebration. Please Venmo to for your tickets. $5/ticket or $20/6 tickets for the raffle.

We will pick the winner at Bancroft Trading Post at 1pm on July 24 and the quilt will be on display until the raffle.

Bancroft Trading Post is going into the 4th year of providing a community luncheon with hamburgers and hotdogs. Also, pending city approval at the next council meeting on July 14, Bancroft Trading Post will provide the fireworks show for Bancroft at nightfall on Pioneer Day, July 24. Last minute decision will be made for the fireworks depending on weather conditions.

Christmas in July quilt has a truck snowglobe stiched into it with the back side featuring the truck.

Bancroft Pioneer Day, July 24, is coming quick. It starts with the 5k run/walk, Lions breakfast, and Parade in the morning. The longest running Idaho Rodeo (127 years) and Vendor Booths during the day. Evening starts the street dance with music by the Hatch Band then...Fireworks.

Who wants to see a great fireworks show? If you witnessed the show last year you will attest that it is not like your other fireworks shows that you see. Last year we did 12 clusters consisting of about 1000 shots lasting about 25 minutes.

I will be purchasing the fireworks on June 24...prior to July 4 so we get the best available.

We are looking for sponsors to help with the cost of the show.
$100 donation gets announcement of sponsorship*
$500 donation = * plus contribues about 1 cluster
$1000 donation = * plus contributes an awesome Finalle cluster

Happy New Year 2025.

Many of you know that our goal is to open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have made the goal of middle March 2025 to do this so we can be ready to advertise heavy in SE Idaho to attract customers. We need to be ready to accept customers expecially from Lava Hot Springs, visitors to Chesterfield and Historic Chesterfield. It is apparent that Bancroft by itself is unable to sustain the cost of running and maintaining the restaurant.

We need to complete the kitchen, restrooms in order to do this.

We thought we could do this while opening part-time as we have for the last 3+ months. Truth is progress has been minimal as I (Mike) have spent too much time and energy maintaining just being open three days/week. I have enough data over the last months to know that when we fully open we will be successful.

Bad news. This means that this current weekend 1/2-1/4 is the last we will be open until we are capable to accommodate customers for full service. Disappointing yes but in the best interest of the Trading Post and Bancroft.

Good news. We will maintain the ice rink until weather turns warm enough to melt it.
