It’s been years of this happening and we have just stayed silent.

Last night it happened again.

A card was pre-approved and swiped. The check was brought to the table, a tip and total were written in, but the receipt was never signed. The customers left quickly, and when we attempted to finalize the transaction, the card was declined.

Toast has not been able to give us a clear answer as to why this keeps happening. Are any other restaurants or bars experiencing this lately?

We do have photos, the name on the bill, and the full tab information from last night. If this was you, we have already reached out privately on Facebook. Please do the right thing and make it right.

Five people. Full dinner and drinks.

We normally stay quiet about these situations, but it continues to happen and hurts small businesses more than people realize.
