Took a little drive down to Ayden, NC today to visit a legend. Absolutely worth the trip. Was there for a couple hours and the line was out the door the entire time. Despite the rush, the staff was professional and helpful, and obviously take pride in what they do. And they should— the chopped pork has the subtle smoky flavor you can only get when cook low and slow over wood coals. If you’re looking for the quintessential Eastern North Carolina whole hog BBQ, your search begins and ends at Skylight Inn BBQ.
