We stopped by Dad’s last night and started talking about the catering we have this weekend, and how we do things now versus when we first started.

I asked him who was the first wedding we ever did. He said Dave and Betty Gross’s daughter. They wanted to have it at Bartelso and Betty had asked Mom if she would cook the food. I said, “who in the world would just say yes to that?” He answered, “your mom.”

And that’s her in a nutshell. She loved to feed people, whether catering or if you unexpectedly stopped by her house. You’d end up staying for supper and probably have something to take home too.

It’s been 6 years this morning since we lost her. We still miss her like crazy!!! But Albert Meyer and Shelly McRoy have done an amazing job keeping it going, along with help from some great family and friends!

After Mom passed away we realized how much work she actually did. I don’t know how she ever did all she did! Those first months were rough for sure! Thank God Dad had talked her into actually writing down some recipes or we would have been up the creek!😂

And thanks to all who have patronized Meyer Catering over the years, we very much appreciate it!!!

And for all those who knew and loved Mom/Del as much as we do, think of her if you are having some fried chicken this weekend!
