“ALLONS MANGER!” — A Little Cajun French, A Lot of Louisiana Love!
You may have noticed the words “Allons Manger!” proudly displayed on the back of our shirts and truck at Louisiana Liege Waffles.
But what does it mean, and why is it so important to us?
In English, “Allons Manger!” means “Let’s Eat!” And to us, those two simple words represent something much bigger than food.
Our love and respect for Louisiana’s rich Cajun culture inspired us to take a centuries-old Belgian tradition and give it a little Louisiana personality. After all, what better place to bring authentic Belgian Liège waffles than a state that celebrates food, family, hospitality, and tradition like no other?
But there’s another reason we proudly wear those words.
Cajun French is a treasured part of South Louisiana’s identity. It’s a language passed down through generations, carrying the stories, humor, music, and traditions that make this place so special.
We believe it’s worth celebrating, preserving, and passing along.
By incorporating Cajun French into our little waffle business, we hope to do our small part in keeping the language visible, encouraging curiosity, and helping strengthen its place in everyday South Louisiana life.
We’re Belgian in tradition, Louisiana at heart, and proud to celebrate the culture that makes our home unlike anywhere else.
So the next time you see us wearing “Allons Manger!”, know that it’s more than a catchy phrase. It’s a little tribute to the people, language, and traditions we love.
