Horse therapy can be very unassuming. Silent on the outside....but powerful on the inside. You walk into the barn, look into those big beautiful eyes and feel their soft muzzles, and you just KNOW.
You know that help is on the way. With them, you don't have a class plannner nor a detailed agenda. When God placed them on this earth, they knew what their soft nicker or kind eye could do to a hurting soul. ❤️
Some of my very best rescue therapy horses (who have often been starved, beaten or neglected) are the greatest healers. I love this analogy (Thanks Deborah L. Denison). It's a reminder that the hurt warrior CAN come back in a mighty way. One that will cut to the very soul of that hurting human....and still extend love, acceptance and understanding. I watch it every day. 🤎
I wish I could tell you the stories but often anonymity is more important than a good story.
Today I'm so grateful for these gentle giants.
Last night's session was one of those times. Where you just have to shake your head and look up. 🙏🙏
