Yup I always buy a vehicle 🚗 I can sleep 🛌 in . I’ve had vans, station wagons and Airstreams. And I’ve always been grateful for them. Gratitude 🙏 is the attitude.

Going home today. I want to thank everyone for their support this past month. It’s been quite an ordeal breaking my hip. A too short afternoon in DC ….. one small corner of the Mall. I love Washington and it deserves a few days at least. But Gettysburg beckoned and I wanted to be there at WalMarts before dark.

At the edge of the Walmart I’ve camping out at is a homeless man jammed in between 2 bushes and this tree. He was asleep when I got up at 7 a.m. and 46 degrees. He’s been there for the 3 days I’ve camped here. Homelessness is everywhere I’ve been this winter and since this guy was directly in front of me I couldn’t look away as is our national habitat. We ignore them.

Tybee Island, Georgia. I was excited to see the legendary Wiernermobile up close. I immediately wanted a hot dog and began singing “I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener ….” The bright and shiny plastic vehicle glowed in the sun.

Now that’s effective advertising. The song is still in my memory 70 years after first hearing it. I imagine Mad Men’s Don Draper coming up with such an idea which has stood the test of time. Good ads such as this are the work of genius.

Of course ads are also the tools of Capitalism- they get the public to buy stuff we might not even need, by sparking something deep in our brain. But can they also be art? I think so. The Wienermobile sure was beautiful sculpture.
