Well I knew this post was coming sooner rather than later. It’s hard to know how much food to order when you are closing up for good. We have had some really busy days this week and we love you all for coming in and showing us your love and appreciation and saying goodbye. We will be closing after lunch service today as we have almost completely run out of food. So bittersweet my friends. So bittersweet. So much love to you all for showing up for my family and I for the last 36 years.

In August of 1990, my parents bought a crab processing plant in downtown Belfast. Their dreams of opening an Italian restaurant were coming together. I stood at the counter, a 19 year old kid who decided to flunk out of college, taking the very first order for a roast beef sub. I have spent 35 years in the building. The experiences I have had along the way are far too many to share. I’ve met the most interesting people along the way. Some have become more like family and have supported all of us since the day we opened. When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2022, a lot changed for me. My outlook on life changed and I started realizing that my body was no longer going to be able to keep up. Jeff and I decided it was time for us to make a change. As most of you know we listed the restaurant to sell. Across the street from us a future star was out growing her space. The universe started working its magic and a relationship was born. We are so happy and excited to announce that Sadie Samuels from Must Be Nice Lobster and I signed a deal today for her to move into our building and make her dreams skyrocket!!! Our last day of service will be Sunday October 19th. The most amazing part is that our staff will all be staying on with Must Be Nice Lobster! As I write this it feels really strange. I will miss everyone so much. I will miss some parts of the restaurant business. Through this process I have come to love Sadie so much. There is no one I would rather work with than she and Red. They are going to take that building and breathe the new life into it that it needs. Thank you so much to our incredible brokers Katelin Bennett and Shelly Everett of Everett Realty Group who facilitated this transaction with incredible professionalism and knowledge. All good things must come to an end. Goodbye for now friends. Thank you for all the years of love that you have given us. I will forever be grateful. ❤️

HOLY MACKEREL TOURNAMENT 2025 IS THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!! The weather looks amazing and the fish have been hot in the bay!
