For all three of us, this work is personal. We grew up in Wellsville, and while we now call different parts of Allegany County home, we share a deep connection to the communities that shaped us.

That connection gives us a unique appreciation for the opportunity to represent the place we love—supporting local businesses, promoting our tourism assets, celebrating our communities, and helping tell the story of Allegany County every day.

Main Street businesses are the heartbeat of our communities, and these stores are a wonderful example of how unique retail shops can make a big impact.

Retail businesses do more than sell products—they create gathering places, attract visitors, support local jobs, and help keep dollars circulating right here in our communities. When people visit a downtown shop, they often stop at other businesses, grab a meal, fill up their tank, or explore what else the community has to offer.

🌄 Tourism Tuesday | Life Inside the Landscape 🌄

Help us tell the story of Allegany County.

We're already looking ahead to 2027, and we want our next visitor guide to reflect the people, places, and experiences that make Allegany County unlike anywhere else.

Our theme for the year is Life Inside the Landscape because the story of Allegany County isn't just found in our hills, forests, rivers, and small towns. It's found in the people who call this place home.

The best recommendations don't come from travel brochures. They come from neighbors sharing their favorite sunrise, the backroad worth exploring, the family restaurant everyone should try, or the tradition that's been passed down for generations.

Over the coming weeks, Tourism Tuesdays will celebrate the people, places, and stories that define life in Allegany County. We'll begin with a short community survey and then continue the conversation through in-person community engagement sessions.
