Just a quick update on the bakery move! It has been alot more work and a few more struggles than expected but is coming along. Storage has been the biggest hurdle. Instead of having whole rooms with closets and doors like at previous locations, I now have 2 big open spaces and only 2 small closets. So, I have been condensing things and bought 9 big storage cabinets on wheels to move in and out from the walls. Also, dealing with limestone walls has been a challenge and after talking with at least 3 different experiences people, hanging kitchen cabinets got nixed. There are a few more things to finish but am getting closer to being DONE and what a relief that will be!

The good news is the kitchen is fully functional and I am now taking orders, so please don't hesitate to contact me! I still only plan on doing custom orders but hope to do workshops and be a space for small group meetings.

Just a quick post to let you know there will be a delay with a Grand Opening on May 1 due to not being able to get kitchen cabinets hung. Apparently there are two layers of paneling, random studs, old crumbling plaster, cement, and limestone. We are trying to attach cabinets to wall without damaging it or making too many holes but not knowing the wall stability is a concern. If anyone has experience hanging cabinets in old limestone buildings, please message me! We have looked a so many options that my brain is exhausted.

If you missed the earlier post, Cottage Celebrations has moved downtown! I'm not 100% set up to start baking full steam, so apologize for not having Easter goodies available.

BUT, I did create mini, non-edible grape hyacinth bouquets for Easter/Spring since I could find the ribbon and had the flowers blooming at home!

Each bundle includes:
-10 purple grape hyacinth stems
-white tulle bow,sage green ribbon and a simple, jute twine bow
- approx. 7 inches tall

💜 Purple: for Lent and the love of Jesus
💚 Green: for everlasting life and new beginnings
🤍 White: for forgiveness and grace
🪢 Jute twine: a reminder that Jesus came simply

Contest Winner! Congratulation Ashley Clausen! She guessed "Skin Tone/Beige" which was the closest to the color...Light Rose Gold.

Mixing colors is a fun challenge! The trickiest part is guessing how dark it will go after it's on the cake and air dries because it tends to darken. So with this Rose Gold, I was trying to keep it light for the smash cake but needed darker for the 2-tier. The original color is pictured below which was close to a skin tone. I did end up adding more pink to achieve the right colors though.
