Sometimes I wonder if decent people who act with hate (lies, blame, contempt, acts of harm or intimidation, avoidance of direct and honest contact) see themselves as being hateful... or are they simply afraid and doing what they believe is right to defend what they love? I don't know, so I unlock the door and put out the welcome mat again and again. The stranger is welcome in this home. That is why I/we created this space....for community to come together and get to know one another. That dream is eternal.

We decided to concede the legal and our ex-partner placed the only bid. A number of people were interested but the minimal advertising, two week window for bids and background shinanigans didn't allow for much competition. The space I built is pretty amazing and perhaps someday it will have decent ownership. We're moving on to new things. I may post here from time to time. Thank you all.

Of all the many miracles in my life, and through all the many times of darkess, through friendships made and friendships betrayed...there is a light that shines on every day for me since, November, 27, 2014 and made public at our wedding October, 19, 2019 at The Source. So many friends, loved ones and family were there and you are with us always. Enjoy with us, new friends and community.

The Source Story
Over the years many people have asked how this idea came to life.
The story of The Source started in tragedy when the historic building that once occupied, 33 Fairfax Street burned down in 2015.
The empty lot that was 33 Fairfax Street, once held the building of the Apothecary. That building housed apartments Portals, Himalayan Handicraft (two businesses that are still flourishing and bringing people to our town) and Awakenings Holistic Center, which closed afterwards. The devastation was felt in the town and eventually even the facade of the original structure was torn down, leaving a gaping hole facing the State Park. To some of us that ‘hole’ also represented a hole in many hearts and in the town itself. People shared that observation with us frequently.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Firefighters in Berkeley Springs rescued three people from the top floor of a downtown building on Fairfax Street early Monday after flames engulfed the property, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, officials said.

We witnessed the removal of the upper sign yesterday. (We thought it was a bit nicer than the one that remains, don't you think?)
