Since our post last week, over $800 from 15 new donors has been raised. Thank you to all of you who made that happen! With the holidays coming up and the restaurant still closed, we’d love to make it to our goal of $10,000 to disperse to our staff. Le Bateau Ivre will be temporarily closed while our beloved Chef Raul Parada undergoes surgery to remove a brain tumor. We will be open our normal hours this week, with our last day on Sunday, October 23.

Please keep Raul and his family in your prayers. We hope to reopen with Raul at the forefront in January 2023. Until then… safe sails to all of our loyal customers.

A portion of proceeds on this day will support their efforts in bringing meals that heal to the HIV Community in the East Bay.

Happy 50th birthday to us!

On this day 50 years ago, Le Bateau Ivre opened it doors to the Berkeley community. We are so proud to still be here, having made it through countless challenges, including the pandemic. Thank you to everyone who has walked through our doors, walked on our floors (see them in their original form in the second photo), had a cup of coffee with us, and come back as a regular throughout the years. We could not have made it to this milestone without you!
