Meet Chef Colton Blagrove 👋

With 14 years in the culinary industry, Chef Colton’s love of food started long before he stepped into a professional kitchen. Born in Jamaica and raised largely in New Orleans, he grew up watching his mom prepare family recipes passed down from his grandmother, who was also a chef.

After initially pursuing a career in the medical field, Colton ultimately found his way back to the kitchen—and hasn’t looked back. His culinary career has taken him from New Orleans to Sacramento, Denver, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and now Berkeley.

His cooking style is approachable and technique-driven, taking familiar dishes and giving them an unexpected twist. At Gather, he’s especially excited to work with the incredible seasonal produce Northern California has to offer.

You can already taste his influence on our fall menu, with dishes like Blistered Market Peppers, Roasted Chicken with caramelized onion purée, Japanese-Style Fried Chicken, and Persimmon Butter Cake.

We’re thrilled to welcome Chef Colton to Gather and can’t wait for Berkeley and the East Bay to experience what he’s bringing to the table.
