We wanted to share some important news with you.

Our Shrubby’s Food Truck has been sold. While this wasn’t something we had planned, a serendipitous opportunity came along, and we chose to embrace it.

This wasn’t an easy decision, but it marks the beginning of a new chapter for us—one where we can slow down, live more fully, and spend time doing what we love. Not just cooking BBQ for others, but traveling, exploring, and experiencing the foods we’ve always enjoyed.

This decision comes with a full heart. The relationships we’ve built along the way mean everything to us. We are deeply grateful to every loyal customer who supported us, shared meals and stories, and helped make this journey so special.

With this change, we are stepping away from serving the public and easing into retirement—looking forward to a slower pace and even cooking for ourselves for a change. Thank you for your kindness, your trust, and the memories you’ve given us.

Thank you for being such an important part of our story. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

🎉 Thank You from Shrubby’s Smokeshack! 🎉

As our season winds down, we want to give a huge THANK YOU to our new fans, our loyal supporters, and everyone who waited in those long lines at the big events. You made this season absolutely incredible!

This year we spiced things up — adding several new menu items and five new sauces that seemed to be a big hit. 🍖🔥

We’re also so grateful for your support in the Best of NH contest — thank you for voting for us! 🙌

We’ll be back in the spring, fired up and ready to bring you even more of the BBQ you love. Over the winter, we’ll be brainstorming new ideas and searching out fresh, unique BBQ inspiration to share with you next season.

GAME ON!
Thank you for all your well wishes, tips, tricks and stories about Vertigo. Right now, fingers crossed, Shrubby is upright and standing tall. Our events are on this week.
Here is to smooth sailing!
We will not have wings or pork belly bites tomorrow.

Well, hindsight is 20/20, isn’t it? We decided to be a little extra and take an extra day off from our brief break, so naturally, we canceled our event yesterday. Fast forward to 7 AM: Shrubby wakes up, promptly gets hit with a full-blown case of vertigo. Now, this is a man who's survived the high seas, but it turns out a serious case of seasickness on solid ground is a whole other beast.

After a visit to the doc, turns out the diagnosis is "severe vertigo"—you know, like being on a never-ending merry-go-round but with none of the fun or snacks. No known cause, just the universe deciding to shake things up, I guess. Our Navy vet, usually steady as a ship’s mast, is now dismayed by every single head turn, as if he’s navigating a stormy ocean… on land.

So, tonight's event (Friday 19 September) is cancelled.

But hey, we’re not canceling events for next week! Stay tuned for more fun… and we’re still planning to make it to Home Depot on Tuesday. (Vertigo permitting, of course.)
