Watercress is becoming a new favorite. Meet the cousin of the Brassicaceae family along with kale, Brussels sprouts, and cabbage. These microgreens hold a more piquant flavor, similar to mustard and radish. Watercress is very high in antioxidants, and as well packed with vitamins such as A, C, and K. It’s also rich in calcium and manganese. It’s considered to be one of the more nutrient-dense food compared to other microgreens. The reasons we carry it in our weekly harvest pack subscription. Heirloom radish! You might think that a radish microgreen looks leafy and would taste bland, but these full flavored microgreens taste exactly like the full grown bulb. The beauty of the radish microgreen is that you can get that same peppery radish punch, in the form of a delicate and crunchy tiny plant. Try on food where you might not want to eat radish slices on your next burger the radish microgreen would make a lovely addition of pepper, texture, and color. You can even substitute microgreens for the lettuce on your favorite sandwhich to bring a serious flavor enhancement.
