Making some progress, starting to see the way through (again). A very difficult week... but if we post this a thousand more times we'll get there! 😀 Just kidding, thank you to everyone who has been helping and coming in, making things better bit by bit. An overview spiel here, but currently $$ goes to paying back rent and hopefully new signage and some gear repair/acquisition...
Earthbound Cafe has been rough, but we've made it over a year... location location... oops we're in a basement! It's amazing to me how difficult people seem to find it to figure out that sometimes a place is inside of a place. You know, basic concept lol. Besides this the biggest lesson has been always come in with enough money. Boy, we weren't even close! There were a lot of obstacles- scaffolding in our seating area the opening weeks... space next door flooded requiring a lot of noisy fans... had maybe not a great handle on what we needed to be doing... city implemented streets plan cutting off parking and sometimes driving all around the place during the first months... media company incompetence affecting web presence (we let them go)... annoying "friend" sabotage affecting media presence. But here we are, mentally, physically and emotionally beat down, but kind of working on a better plan. Less focus on the daily/weekdays, better farmers market integration, take home/personal cheffing and meal planning (we call that Moonbase and it's doing fine), brunch every Sunday, special events and popups, more active catering gigs search. It'll possibly work... markets start next week so I can focus on that. Gonna put the GFM here though because we accrued back rent, been slowly whittling that down. I still have hope, the food is well received, we're trying. Make a lot of mistakes then make it right. Anyway, whew! I never imagined it would be as crazy as all that, but welcome to the club I guess!
