Hello Chips Family!
Thank you for all of your support in helping us raise concern and urgency around Bingen's ongoing small business closures. The community has really been hurting since April. Earlier today, the City made a "press release" about our comments to Bingen's leadership on July 7th, which we are still working to fully understand. With only one day until Bingen's next City Council meeting, we will not be responding to this press release at tomorrow's meeting -- we want to be diligent, thoughtful and intentional in all of our pleas to get Chips re-opened as soon as possible!

FOR CHIPS BAR AND GRILL

REMINDER -- We will be speaking out at the Bingen City Council meeting TONIGHT at 6pm at Bingen City Hall (112 N. Ash) with a public comment urging our City leadership to really prioritize our downtown's recovery, and to use their influence to get Chips re-opened. We are asking the public for their support as we highlight the harm the April water main break is still having on impacted businesses, employees, and our community. Please JOIN US!

If you are not able to attend in person, you can submit your public comment here: https://bingenwashington.org/263/Public-Comment.

Public comment is a vital part of the City's decision making process for the residents of Bingen. It provides a mechanism for the public to have their opinions and recommendations formally and publicly documented and is an opportunity for the Bingen community to effect change and improve policies an...

ATTENTION BINGEN BUSINESSES AND RESIDENTS: WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

We will be speaking out at the Bingen City Council meeting on July 7 (6-9pm at City Hall) with a public comment urging our City leadership to really prioritize our downtown business district’s recovery, and to use their influence to get Chips re-opened. We are asking the public for their support as we highlight the harm the April water main break is still having on impacted businesses, employees, and our community.

Will you support us? Please show up on July 7 at City Hall and make a “public comment” to help us raise the City’s awareness of ongoing harm in our community. Stop by Murphy’s any time to pick up a helpful one-pager from the bulletin board (outside) explaining exactly what to do and how to help, or just give us a call and we will get the information to you!

We work hard to show up for our people and our community when it really matters; we would appreciate if you could show up for us now. We hope to see you soon!

UPDATE: Happy Fourth of July from your Chips family! I am sorry to say that Chips remains closed and our efforts to re-open the restaurant are stalled with the City. Our contractors are ready to get to work repairing the damage so that we can open for our regulars and visitors, but unfortunately Bingen has not really prioritized our recovery. Even months later, there is no urgency. We realize that Chips being closed down during our busiest season impacts everyone, not just us: our locals, our other small businesses, our tourism, and our reputation as a destination are all impacted by this. We love our people and our community, we want to re-open Chips, and we want to work together to re-activate Bingen’s business corridor.

Re-opening Bingen should be a priority! Stay tuned for additional information on how you can help.

Last year, America's Best Restaurants road show visited Murphy's, and it was an extraordinary day filled with immense joy, unbridled laughter, and unwavering pride. I'm overflowing with gratitude for my family and team, who demonstrated unwavering dedication and perseverance in our journey to excellence here at Murphy's Family Watering Hole and Chips Bar and Grill. We've triumphantly overcome countless obstacles, including COVID, the remodel in our Chips building, the building that we rent for Murphys being up for sale, and now the flooding from the city main waterline breaking causing closure for two months now. Our greatest victory is yet to come, and we're just getting started!

The Tiki is feeling irritated not seeing all of you. I think after all these years we need to name him. How about a $50.00 gift certificate to the person that comes up with the best name that can be used once we re-open? Ready …….. Go!
