Additional parking to unload sleds for riding, south of Bingham, on the Savage Road. Swing in, turn left in to the parking area. Looking for a place to snow shoe? Take your pups out for a run? You're welcome to there as well. Lots of space! Happy Winter living.

Exciting things happening here at Thompsons! Weather Vane Roofing finished up on the much needed roof last week. Awesome job done Kevin Cates and crew, you're the best. We have a new carpenter working on the remodel of the kitchen and baking area. It's been a struggle finding one after our muched loved carpenter moved on for a different adventure. This covid time has knocked the wind out of many businesses.. We are working to get things opened back up, being closed right now we'd like to offer parking to the riders coming up this weekend for a park and ride. We appreciate all the business you've given us in the past. Have a safe holiday weekend, don't forget the people that have given their all for us to have our freedoms.

Like to thank all of you for the positive posts. We’ve gone as far as we can on the interior. The next mission is to replace the roofs in back. Did front last year. My roofing buddy is wicked busy, but he’ll get to it. Things are changing. The corridor project is picking up, looks like a couple of solar projects, Chianbro Corp has set up at the old hardware store location, Northern Clearing has a large office and parking at the old mill on Owens st and the old Quimby was just purchased. My understanding is 100 employees making popular veneer. And let’s not forget the insulation mill in Madison. We are already extremely busy with rentals and trying to get a recreation area going. At some point we will have everything done and ready to go. Renovating the back room will allow full takeout as well as indoor seating. There is a large parking lot which includes a three bedroom house and single bedroom place. Plenty of room for expansion. I would like to stay involved but don’t have a lot of time. I am open to offers. Willing to finance or work with a couple. Maybe lease for six months or so to give it a try. I’ve been going to Thompsons’s for over 60 years and don’t plan on stopping now. Bingham, the way life should be!

For those wondering when we are going to reopen, I’m hoping in a few weeks. Doing major renovations to up-grade kitchen and converting back room for takeout. Our new POS system has the online ordering. Hours depend on help. Most of my employees have found other jobs so labor is a big problem and I have other interests. It’s looking like the Maine Clean Energy Corridor, which Bingham will be the center, is going through. This is along with several other good size projects. Hundreds of workers needing food and lodging. The restaurant has a large parking lot and two houses. Room to expand. To start, I’m looking for someone to do baking and food prep. Ideally I would like to find a couple that would want to take over. I will have a full liquor license as well beer to go. Along with the rentals, we are also opening a large recreational area that will require catering. Not looking for a manager. Bingham has been rated best water in the state, six Gold Balls, large fish hatchery, water power, wind power, solar power, Kennebec river which was rated best fishing East of the Mississippi, Baker Mountain Ski, Wyman lake and miles of recreational trails.

With heavy hearts we have decided it's in everyones best interest to close for at least 2 weeks, perhaps longer depending on how well this virus gets contained. Stay healthy friends..
