Johnny Ray's BBQ - Colonnade Since 1987, we've been proud to serve a variety of southern comfort food to our Birmingham neighbors.

Since Johnny Ray's was first opened in 1953, our name has stood for excellence in food, quality and service. Johnny Ray's has served up tasty hickory-smoked Barbecue pork, chicken and beef paired with classic Southern comfort food. Everyone thinks his or her mother is the best cook in the world, so that's why we say, "Next to home, it's Johnny Ray's". The Colonnade location has been a staple in the Birmingham market since 1989.

Johnny Ray's BBQ, along with many businesses, are in the middle of a hiring crisis. Beginning Sunday August 29th we will be closing on Sunday's until further notice, due to a staffing shortage. Our team works hard every day, but they are tired and stressed. We are doing everything we can to hire more team members. We are seeing far less job applicants, people not showing up for their interviews, or accepting a job only to not show up for work. The restaurant industry has suffered from a hiring perspective during the pandemic and unfortunately Johnny Ray's BBQ is not immune to this labor shortage.
The good news is we are committed to serving our community. We are committed to great food served by amazing team members, so if you feel inclined give them a word of encouragement next time you come by.
