The Lucca Grill was established in 1936 by brothers Fred and John Baldini and was named for their hometown of Lucca, Italy. From the beginning, the Baldini brothers offered an outstanding menu in a friendly atmosphere, a way of business which has been sustained by succeeding generations and has become, indeed, a Tradition of Quality. Our customers always feel "at home" at the Lucca Grill, with the

familiar antique mahogany bar, the ornate tin ceiling, the first pizza in Central Illinois, and the many framed newspaper feature articles about the Lucca Grill from our local newspaper, The Pantagraph, to The New York Times, to The Washington Post. It has been nurtured for eight decades and is being continued by long time managers and now owners John Koch and Tony Smith.

Twenty-eight years. Think of all the dinners shared, the challenges overcome, the laughter, the memories, and the quiet moments that make a life together so meaningful. It's a beautiful reminder that love isn't measured in grand gestures, but in showing up for one another day after day, year after year.

Some people wear a lot of hats. Amy Shay practically has her own hat collection. ❤️🍕
For nearly two decades, Amy has been one of the steady hands helping keep Lucca Grill running. She manages employee schedules, tends bar, waits tables, solves problems, fills in where needed, and somehow keeps all the moving pieces moving.
She's also the person who helps make sure John and Tony can sneak away for a well-deserved break every now and then—a task that might deserve a medal all by itself. 😄
The truth is, places like Lucca don't thrive for nearly 90 years without dedicated people behind the scenes who care deeply about the restaurant and the people in it. Amy is one of those people.
Thank you, Amy, for everything you do. Lucca Grill simply wouldn't be the same without you. ❤️

Beverly and Mary—two wonderful women whose love story is woven into the fabric of Lucca Grill, met right here at Lucca, and this year they're celebrating 30 years together and Mary's 80th birthday. What an incredible milestone and a beautiful reminder that some of life's greatest gifts can begin with a simple meeting and grow into a lifetime of memories.

A huge congratulations to our very own Zoe on her graduation! Last month she crossed the stage, and we couldn't be more proud.
Over the years, Lucca Grill has been fortunate to be a small part of the journeys of so many students. We've watched young people grow, learn, work hard, earn their degrees, and head off to chase their dreams. It's one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
