Today, our hearts are heavy.
As we mourn the loss of Private Isabella Gonzalez, we pause to honor her life, her service, and the incredible sacrifice she made in defense of our nation.
Those who choose to wear the uniform do so with a servant’s heart. They willingly place themselves in harm’s way—not for recognition, but out of love for their country, their fellow Soldiers, and the families they hope to protect. It is a sacrifice that few are willing to make, and one that should never be forgotten.
Today, and in the days to come, let us remember Private Gonzalez not only for how she died, but for how she lived—with courage, commitment, and a willingness to stand in the gap for others.
