🍂 BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY PROJECTS FINISHED IN TIME FOR FALL TRAVEL
The National Park Service says multiple construction and restoration projects along the Blue Ridge Parkway are now complete, just in time for peak fall tourism season.
The big news: you can now drive the Parkway uninterrupted from the James River (Milepost 63.7 in Virginia) to Little Switzerland (near Milepost 344) in North Carolina. In all, 458 of the Parkway's 469 miles are now open, with work continuing on the final 11 miles.
Newly reopened sections in North Carolina include:
• Milepost 317.5 (south of Linville Falls) to Milepost 324.7
• Milepost 333.9 (Little Switzerland) to Milepost 340.2 at NC 80
• Deep Gap Bridge at Milepost 276.4
• Loops B and D at Julian Price Campground (Milepost 297)
In Virginia, Milepost 115 to 121 in Roanoke is open again as the final phase of a multi-year repaving project.
Of the 60 slide repairs required after Hurricane Helene, 48 are complete and work is underway on the final 12. Repairs on the remaining stretch from Milepost 344 to 355 are targeted for completion by the end of 2026.
