Happy Independence Day!!!!

We tried to get the whole crew from Blue Moon Cafe, Waves Restaurant, Brisetto’s Second Cup, and The Thistle Inn into one massive group photo to celebrate the 4th of July in our matching 250-year t-shirts! 🇺🇸

As you can see... the Front of the House won the photo op! 🏆

Huge shoutout to our incredible kitchen staff who couldn’t join the picture because they were way too busy doing what they do best: cooking up a storm and keeping the holiday crowds fed! They are the real engine behind the magic, even if they are currently hiding behind a wall of steam. We promise they are wearing the shirts under their aprons! 🫡🍳

This Independence Day, America's 250th anniversary, is particularly special for a Boothbay Harbor entrepreneur. In 2017, Florin Iuga arrived in Boothbay Harbor from his native Romania. Iuga, now 30, was barely 20 when he arrived in America, and now, he is as patriotic as any other American.

Hey Mooners –

After 20 years of coffee, blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, pecan crisp French toast, harbor views, and countless mornings with you all, it is time for us to pass the torch at Blue Moon Cafe.

For 20 years, the Blue Moon has been equal parts hard work, great people, and a whole lot of fun.

The Blue Moon is not going anywhere and will continue with the familiar menu and uniquely special setting that have meant so much to so many. Under new ownership, the heart of this place will carry on.

Some things only happen once in a blue moon. For us, it was getting to be part of your mornings, your traditions, and this wonderful Boothbay Harbor community. The connections we have made here mean more than we can say. Watching children grow up and later bring in families of their own has been one of the true privileges of these past 20 years, and we will always be grateful for the friendships and memories made along the way.

We will see you all around town this summer.
