Have you ever noticed this outfit in our restaurant? It’s a traditional, handmade Yunnan garment crafted for a young woman, a piece full of cultural meaning.
The bright embroidery and bold colors reflect the Bai ethnic minority, known for their love of white, vibrant accents, and floral motifs like the camellia. Bai attire symbolizes beauty, identity, and family blessings, with more elaborate versions worn for festivals and major life events.
The head covering is inspired by the Bai expression “the flower in the wind and the moon on a snowy night” (风花雪月), symbolizing Dali’s famous landscapes.
A small piece of Yunnan’s heritage, hanging right here, and a source of inspiration for everything we serve. ❤️
