Bel Ari | Concept Narrative
Art driven design, a menu inspired “from all over the boot”, an eclectic craft wine and beverage program without airs, avant-garde and playful vibe; these elements all pulse with life, center on authenticity, and define our character at Bel Ari.
Located in the heart of the Leather District, which is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places, Bel Ari embodies the modern renaissance of the ‘LD’ and the community’s emerging urban-chic persona. The ‘Italian Modern’ concept provides guests a composed experience of traditional offerings and contemporary twists.
A 100 year old industrial lathe upcycled as a community wine tasting table, an engaging bar scene, and relaxed dining setting make Bel Ari ideal for small gatherings, banquets, private events, and socializing. The restaurant and bar is a ‘go-to’ for executive power lunches, a local favorite for dinner, and soon to be desired choice for Millennials seeking upbeat settings and remarkable offerings.
Bel Ari | Design Narrative
Bel Ari’s design was a collaboration between Food Network designer, Taniya Nayak; Red Door Hospitality Restaurant Developer, Travis ‘Tbone’ Talbot; International artist, Janice Eve Dale; and Co-owners, Mark and Mariann Tosi. The collective aim was to craft a venue that is authentic, convivial, and modestly stylish.
The revitalized space retains characteristics unique to the Leather Districts historic 19th century architecture (Douglas fir flooring, richly stained solid oak bar, raw steel elements), complimented with fashionable inflections depicting the neighborhood’s urban-chic renaissance (black subway tile, hand-blown glass lighting, repurposed furniture). In both concept and design, the venue evokes qualities of masculine boldness balanced by elements of feminine refinement.
Bel Ari: a simply tailored restaurant packaged with newfound sheen, warmth and charisma.
