Finca Costa Rica - 2023 Vintage Lot

Boxcar’s Reserve Series highlights one-of-a-kind and exceptional coffees, from vintage lots preserved in our deep freezer to unique processing methods and rare varieties, expertly roasted to highlight their unique attributes. Our latest release takes us back in time to fall 2023, our first harvest season working with Finca Costa Rica in Santa Maria, Huila. As soon as this lot landed at our roastery, we froze just 30 pounds for a future re-release. Once this lot is gone, it’s gone for good.

This double-anaerobic washed field blend is a true fruit bomb; its syrupy mouthfeel and bright, mouthwatering acidity remind us of Starburst candies and fresh pink lady apple, while chocolate mousse brings another layer of sweetness to the finish.

This coffee has sold out online already, but both of our cafes have some in stock!

El Salvador - Divisadero

Mauricio Salaverria’s Custatleco variety is a standout on our single origin menu each year, and also makes up 50% of our Cherrypicker blend in the summer months. Planted for its coffee leaf rust resistance and adaptation to the growing conditions in western El Salvador, this lot was naturally processed to enhance its crisp acidity and creamy body. We love this coffee for its flavors of citrus, mixed berries, a touch of red wine, and rich dark chocolate.

We have been enjoying this coffee so much that we have to share it. We’ve dialed it in on batch brew and will be serving it starting tomorrow (Saturday, June 20) at our Pearl Street Cafe. Quantities are limited, and we expect to sell out by midday Sunday. Stop by for a cup and see what the excitement is about!

Both cafes have been restocked with Reserve Series retail beans for the weekend, and it will be available online through the end of next week.

That’s why we’re honored to announce that Ethiopia - Chelbesa Danche Yellow Honey has been recognized with a 2026 Good Food Foundation Good Food Award.

The 2026 harvest of Chelbesa Danche Yellow Honey will be available as soon as it arrives next Month. In the meantime, Boxcar’s Ethiopia season is off to a great start with Musa Abalulesa washed, and our direct-trade microlots from El Salvador are on fire this year!
