We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend in spite of the weather. Our new mini splits definitely helped!
As we head into our 13th season, and With the unofficial season kickoff weekend behind us, let’s take a moment to reflect…
The first slide is a reproduction of a bumper sticker for The Hub in Saratoga Springs. One of our many awesome customers recently gave this to me. I used to work in a bike shop just up the street from its former location, and customers used to regale me with stories of “this great dive bar that used to be down the street”. This is how the name “The Hub” first got in my head.
The second slide is an original bumper sticker from the same establishment that another awesome customer gave us.
The third slide is the back of my 1990 F150.. the workhorse that gets a lot of the dirty work behind the business done. (Thank you riversidepines for the freezer hookup!)
The fourth slide is a ruler given to us by another couple of awesome customers from another bygone establishment.
Another notable Hub is the fictional establishment in That 70s Show where the kids hang out (when they’re not in the basement..)
While “The Hub” is far from original, the real reason I decided to name the business is the hub of a bicycle. It’s the bearing assembly and connection point at the center of the wheel that the wheel rotates on.
What I still can’t believe is what a connection point the business has become for everyone. Thank you to all that make it possible.
