I’m always in awe of Mother Nature 💚
Our tomatillo plants look like something out of a
Sci Fi film.
Our lil garden struggle was real this year 😩
But what chose to grow was much appreciated 🙏🏽
It was my escape on the hard days 🫶🏼
Lots of tomatoes and chiles 🍅🌶️

Good morning 🌞

A humble plate of migas with black beans & rice is literally one of my favorites .
I’ve picked up this recipe long ago when I was living in California a neighbor used to make them for her family and if I was lucky enough I would be there to help in the kitchen.
There are a few variations of migas translated from Spanish means crumbs .
From Tex Mex Mexico Spain and Portuguese
they can be dressed up or kept simple . The idea
Is to feed a family on what staples that would be on hand . Corn tortillas eggs jalapeño onions cheese.
served with leftovers from rice & beans to whatever is readily available. Versatile enough for brunch or dinner

🍁🍁🍁I’m ready for fall 🍁🍁🍁

Intimate dinner parties and weekend brunch’s
Finding balance this year has been elusive.
Between my new job that I love and catering on the weekends and the weather really put a damper on plans I had for the cafe this spring and before I knew it here we are in Summer .
I really miss the energy that flows through our lil juke joint & of course all of you 🥰

I’m looking forward to cooler temps to allow us to open Saturday & Sunday for brunch
And a new concept I’ve been thinking about
Invitation dinners , I make a calendar of set dinners
And create a list of people who are interested in being our guests for the evening.

I sure wish I could go back and hug my Gramma one last time 😩

This lady right here was the most incredible woman.
She taught me the art of cooking and presentation.
She ignited the passion I have for pouring love into food and to appreciate the time spent watching others enjoy the fruits of her labor 🙏🏽

Thank you for taking the time to love and pour into me I will carry it wherever I may go
