With a heavy heart, I am sorry to announce that we have closed again. We had hoped to stay open this winter but with the dwindling business we are loosing too much money. We were hoping to stay open at least until Thanksgiving but due to illness within our family and today within our staff, we must make an abrupt decision. Sorry to do this after talking so much about the crab leg special but it seems it was not meant to be. We are now closed until further notice. Thanks so much to the loyal few who kept coming in.

4 big things for this week.
1) You read about our SNOW CRAB LEG SPECIAL for this weekend. The last few weekends have been sort of slow, so I ordered the crab accordingly. That means supplies are limited, so make sure you come in Friday night or early Saturday as we may run out. That's Fri & Sat from 5 - 8 PM as long as they last. 1 pound or more of snow crab legs with french fries, BBQ bread and a house salad for only $16, tax included.
2) It's starting to get chilly so we are pulling out the Winter menu. Sunday's lunch bar will naturally have our famous home style Pot Roast, as it is our most popular dish. But we will also be serving home made LASAGNA to warm up your tummy.
3) And for a Limited Time Only, we are offering SWEET POTATO FRIES in addition to our regular French Fries and Seasoned Potato Wedges. Order them alone or substitute them for regular fries with any sandwich or dinner for only an addition 25 cents.
4) Lastly, the mixed dill and bread & butter fried pickle appetizer is going over very well, so we will continue to offer this instead of just dill for a while longer. If you haven't tried them you don't know what you are missing.
Ya'll come see us soon, and thanks for your continued support.

November is Peanut Butter Lover's Month, Good Nutrition Month, and National Pepper Month. Daylight Saving Time has ended and this Tuesday is Election Day. So what do we celebrate this weekend? Well, the Smokey Mountains had their first snow this weekend, so let's celebrate this early cold snap with SNOW CRAB LEGS. We haven't done this before, but it seems like a good idea. Friday and Saturday from 5 - 8 PM our special will be a Snow Crab Leg dinner. If you haven't tried them you need to, and we'll help you figure out how to handle them. Come on in this weekend and forget the cold with us. If you plan to stay at home for football games on Saturday, come eat crab with us Friday night, then order pizza to go for the games on Saturday. We'll make your life easy for you.

Happy Oktoberfest Cullman and North Alabama. Just a reminder that we at Brushy Pond are taking a short vacation. We will be closed from now until Saturday, October 18. Please support Cullman next weekend and celebrate downtown for Oktoberfest.

After we reopen, keep an eye on our page for exciting news regarding new specials and menu items as the cold weather starts coming in.

See you all soon, and thanks for your support.

In case you missed the Cullman Times this morning, here's the headline: "PUBLIX, PETSMART COMING TO CULLMAN SHOPPING CENTER". Add these to the already announced Dick's Sporting Goods and the recommitted Belks, Shoe Department and Books-A-Million. Walmart has announced a new store and land is now being cleared for the new CR 222 I-65 interchange for access to the future Bass Hall of Fame. In case you are missing the point here, CULLMAN IS ALIVE AND WELL. Oktoberfest has kicked off and it's time to celebrate. We have a great historic downtown, but let's not forget there are plenty of other places of interest throughout the County.

Brushy Pond Restaurant is only a short 20 miles from downtown and 10 miles from Exit 299. From Dodge City at the exit, head West toward Jasper for 7 miles. On the way, be sure to stop at J Calvert Farm's produce stand on the right and pick up some locally grown vegetables. At the electrical substation, turn Right (North) on County Road 222. Go 3 miles and we are on the left. If you reach Big Bridge at Ryan's Creek, you've gone 3 miles too far.

We are open Friday and Saturday from 7 AM until 8 PM. From 5 - 8 PM we offer special items in addition to the regular menu every weekend, and you'll hear about those on this page. Sunday and Monday we are open 7 AM til 2 PM. Hot breakfast every morning and a hot lunch buffet Friday, Sunday and Monday. The Sunday buffet is worth the drive all by itself. Our secret recipe Pot Roast is better than your Mother's, but let's not tell her. Plenty of hot vegetables to choose from, locally grown when available. Add rolls and home made cornbread, then top it all off with homemade coconut or chocolate pies, and usually peach or apple cobblers. And don't forget to pick up your loyal customer lunch card. Buy 10 meals and your next lunch buffet is free.

So come on folks, let's all get out and celebrate Cullman. Next week celebrate Oktoberfest downtown as we take a short vacation from October 10 through 17. We'll reopen Saturday October 18 and stay open this year through the Winter. It's a short drive from downtown with a beautiful view. We'll make it worth your drive.

Please share this post with all your friends. Let them know how well Cullman is doing these days, and how proud we all are to be here.
