Hi everyone! Weโd like to share a recent personal update from Gerry! ๐งก
First off, thank you to everyone whoโs been praying for me, my family, and our restaurant. Your love, support, and encouragement mean more than I can put into words. We feel every single prayer โ and we are truly grateful.
God is with us.
And through this journey, so many of you have shared your own stories โ stories of healing, strength, and Godโs miracles. Itโs been incredible to hear, and it reminds me that the key through it all is faith. Faith that God is our healer and that He is walking with us every step of the way.
This past Monday (July 28), I had my second chemotherapy treatment.
By Tuesday evening, the fatigue hit hard โ and it lingered for a few days. Itโs wild how you can feel so exhausted even when doing nothing at all.
Eating has been a challenge. Iโve lost some weight โ down to 168 lbs from 185. The side effects of chemo are very real:
โข Food doesnโt taste right
โข Salt has a terrible taste
โข Acid reflux and congestion
โข Bloating
โข Persistent hiccups
On top of that, my hair has started falling out, and I still have fluid build-up in my leg. Some days it goes down with elevation, but overall, it feels like Iโm walking through water โ always a heavy, dragging resistance that just makes me feel even more tired.
But Iโm still standing. Still walking. And still believing.
Your continued prayers and support lift me up more than you know.
Weโre leaning on God and trusting Him through it all.
