Go see Blossom at Brooklin Candy Company! She has all the treasures and treats. She also makes a great Thursday night take out dinner, get on her weekly text list for the menu. This road closure has been tough!

This has been a hard summer. For those of you who don’t know, the state decided to do extensive road work in Brooklin this August, (which meant the entire road needed to be removed to work on and replace a culvert), unfortunately hit setbacks, and now doesn’t have an actual end date for the work- although there have been rumblings one lane will be open sometime in September. This closure has eliminated driveby traffic past the shop, and has slowed what’s usually a bustling month into a very, very slow trickle of visitors- a number of days we’ve only had a few people in, and this is August! We don’t blame you, it’s annoying to drive all the way to the other side of town and then double back to get wherever you’re going.

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s reached out with kind words, told friends/relatives that they can still make it here, (and to ignore the road closed ahead signs in town), to the people who have placed shipped orders and bought gift cards, and to those who have driven around the construction “the long way” to get here. You seriously humble me with your kindness.

Please spread the word that we are still open during the ongoing road work, and that you can reach the shop by coming through town, since 175, aka The Bay Road, is still completely closed between Flye Point and Old County Road.
