Over the years, we’ve had quite a few luminaries stop in and visit us. We never push ourselves on them, and some make it very clear that they want their privacy respected. Fair enough.

On this anniversary of his passing, we remember Michael Kenneth ( ) Williams. Michael would visit us regularly, cycling in with a gaggle of friends, and he always exuded a humble and warm sense of welcoming.

At the age of 54, he succumbed to a needle with fentanyl laced he**in, but his legacy and our remembrance of Michael will always be the body of work he left behind.

Religious celebrations aside (enjoy yours) we also acknowledge those who celebrate 4-20, especially knowing (we’ve been told) that our pies are the perfect munchie of choice. So if you’re imbibing In the celebration, stop in and see if our pie hits that sweet spot for your hankerings.

We wont be offering the “pot-pie” pictured, although we did produce this special run for one particular occasion, complete with an “enhancement.” 😋

Don’t know if you’ve noticed but we’ve got an egg problem. This has been going on for quite some time, as just a few short years ago we were paying around less than $1.30/lb, as of our last delivery it was close to $6.00/lb. We realized we were selling our pies at a loss.

We immediately notified our commercial customers that there would be a stopgap increase in this weeks deliveries —to which they were all quite accepting and understanding of— and now we implement those increases to our retail walk-up customers.

Our new pricing is commensurate with what other pie shops of our caliber have been charging (Little Pie Company and Four&20 Blackbirds) for their 10-inch pies. We are not out of line with this increase, we are simply catching up with what is long overdue.

Our only saving grace is our reliance on knowing that we are not looking for alternative ingredients; our commitment to maintaining the quality of our pies is unbending. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to directly source our supplies (wheat, dairy, and eggs) directly from the manufacturers, hence Victoria’s recent visit to Mexico in the shadow of looming tariffs on key limes.

We remain the last bastion of Key Lime authenticity. We do not want to lose any of our customer base, and in some cases, those relationships go back decades. The bottom line is the bottom line, this is a matter of survival for us. As much as we dislike this predicament we’re in, we can not operate at a loss.

Untimely Valentine’s Day post, but we still love ya. The continued support from our devotees has made us a success, we just hope y’all can stick with us.
