It has been a very long time since I have posted anything on FB. BUT, I cant wait to let everyone know that the first two tenants have moved into the East wing of the Old Irish Mill. I would like to welcome The Irish Hills Regional Chamber of Commerce and Hydro Budz.

Hydro Budz is hosting their Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting this Friday 26th at noon. They will be open that day starting at 9:00 am.

Here is a long awaiting update on the OIM project. We are still pursuing this.....

The project would still include two restaurants, a bar, event space, a microbrewery, a demonstration kitchen and an Irish bakery.

We got our Federal designation and we are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Ford Motor Company Brooklyn Plant, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Place on January 12, 2017, is comprised of a factory, dam, and spillway complex located on an 11-acre site near downtown Brooklyn. When the plant first opened in 1939, it alleviated the high level of Depression-era unemployment in the Brooklyn community. The Brooklyn Plant was one of the nineteen partially water-powered “Village Industries” plants in southeast Michigan that Henry Ford developed for Ford Motor Company between 1920 and 1941. The company expanded the plant in 1954 and 1963, and eventually ceased operations at the factory in 1966.

We finally have some great news to pass on regarding the Old Irish Mill.
On September 23rd, the State Historic Preservation Office recommended the building be recognized as historic and pushed that recommendation up to the National Park Service. I was told to expect that notification to come in the next couple of months. This is what we have been waiting for since July 2015. Now the rest of the pieces can start falling into place. BTW, we also have our liquor license in hand....... Can't wait to use it. Updates should be coming on a regular basis now.
