New year, new book club.

📖 Come join us in the backroom on Sunday 1/12 at 6:30p for the Misfit Book Club!!! This will be an intro meeting with the purpose of getting organized. We’ll decide on the book, create a meeting schedule, and figure out how discussions will be conducted.

📚 RSVP to let us know if you’re interested! If there’s a book you’ve been wanting to read but need group encouragement, submit your suggestion when you RSVP! At the meeting we’ll either vote on the submitted choices, but keep in mind that we will not accept book suggestions the day of.

🧑🏾‍🎄 🪩We’re feeling jolly & ready to jingle some bells as we prepare for our Misfit Holiday Party! Wednesday, Dec 18th at 6 p.m. we invite all you beloved sugar plums out for a fun night of competition, gift swapping, & getting into the holiday spirit with our chosen loved ones in this beautiful kava community!

🫚🍞Starting at 6 p.m. on 12/18 we will kick things off with our Gingerbread House contest! $10 Entry fee to cover supplies, but you can pay an extra $5 to receive a double root beverage or a 12. oz leaf tea. (Kocktails excluded.) You will pay your entry fee the day of the event when you check-in. Votes accepted in house & online until midnight. The winner will be announced the next day. Link in bio for prize info & to sign up!

50% of the proceeds from the contest will be donated to a Black trans-led advocacy and direct services organization that is dedicated to fighting systemic discrimination against marginalized communities, in New York City and beyond.

🎄☃️We’ll also have free supplies for you to customize greeting cards & wrapping paper in case you don’t want to be Misfit’s 2024 Gingerbread Architect of the Year! Blank cardstock, envelopes, stickers, stamps, twine, glitter, etc, will be out so tell Hallmark to gtfoh and make your own beautiful card. (If someone has a working typewriter we could use, that’d be dope btw, just saying).
