February 14, 1978 Our 43rd. year of PAM'S #1. We think about our first night at Pam's, what a mad house. Eight waitress's, four bar tenders and 300 plus customers. What we didn't have were cell phones and personal computers. NICE. Night Fever and Stayin Alive were on the Juke Box (5 plays for a quarter).
What was going on in 1978? Average cost of a house $54,800. Cabbage Patch Dolls, Brooke Shields was 12 years old and naked. Home Depot opened their first store in Atlanta, Ga. Super Bowl XII, Cowboys 27 Broncos 10. Tom Brady was 5 mos. old when we opened. I was 32 and Pam was 22.
Well it's been one hell of a ride. Well over a million students served from 100 countries. The down side is that we have lost so many close friends. Our "Stockholders" from the beginning, IRS, ATF, U.S. Customs, DEA, U. S. Marshall's and the IG community. We have seen them grow up, their kids grow up and now the Grand kids come thru school. How proud we are to have served all these wonderful people.
God Bless all of you and yours, Pam and Bob Hammer.
