We will be doing a fundraiser at Nana’s Kitchen tomorrow for a family friend that passed away tragically over the weekend. We will be donating 10% of proceeds along with a donation box, we will also have brownies and banana pudding and 100% of what we make off of desserts will go towards the fundraiser. Unfortunately we will have to close at 2pm because my mother in law has a birthday party at 3pm. Here is a post from the family :
Brandon and Misty were recently on vacation in Mexico celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. What should have been a wonderful time celebrating their love for one another turned tragic when Brandon suffered cardiac arrest which deprived his brain of oxygen for an extended period of time. Misty was alone in a foreign country while her husband was treated in a hospital that was not suited to properly care for his critical condition. Unable to communicate with anyone at the hospital due to the language barrier, Misty reached out to family and friends who thankfully, were able to quickly gather $18,000.00 to hire Air Evac International to evacuate Brandon from Mexico and transport him to Cleveland Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Despite the heroic efforts of Air Evac and Cleveland Medical Center, Misty was informed that Brandon had no brain activity and was unable to breathe on his own.
Anyone who knows Brandon knows that he was a generous and loving family man and as such he remains on life support in order to donate his organs to save others lives. His generosity as an organ donor will make him a hero to so many who have been praying for organs for loved ones in need.
At this time, we do not believe that Brandon has any life insurance policies. Brandon was the main source of income for his family and his passing leaves not only unimaginable pain and suffering but also exorbitant medical bills, funeral expenses and a financial strain that Misty will be faced with for years to come. This is a humble family who prefers to give to others rather than to receive. However, we are pleading with anyone who can spare any funds to assist her to please do so.
