Who We Are
About Us
Libby Ray’s Family BBQ is family owned and operated by Scott & Stephanie Roberts of Burlington, Ky. In 2017, their lives were changed forever by the loss of Stephanie’s 13-year-old daughter, Liberty “Libby” Ray. Libby passed away from cancer related to a rare, neurological disease called Ataxia-Telangiectasia or “A-T”. In fact, Libby was one of the first children to ever be d
iagnosed at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center. Upon her diagnosis, they learned A-T is so rare, there were no government grants or funds for research. It was the efforts and collaboration of parents with diagnosed children to hold fundraisers and raise money. You see, A-T is currently incurable and unrelenting. It mimics ALS with its progressive neurological deterioration except it affects children. For parents to learn their children would slowly lose the ability to function and eventually die is beyond devastating. Scott & Stephanie decided to make it their mission to bring awareness to this terrible disease and help raise money for the Ataxia-Telangiectasia Children’s Project, “ATCP”. ATCP is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support and coordinate biomedical research to find life improving therapies and a cure for A-T. Scott & Stephanie will be donating a percentage of their profits to ATCP.org to help find a cure and put an end to the suffering. Libby’s passing taught Scott & Stephanie that life is too short to not do what you love. They decided to share this love with their community and surrounding areas while honoring their beloved daughter, Libby Ray.
