Bella with the Broccoli! coming through with a big November harvest of everyone’s favorite brassica.

How can you get some of this stuff if you’re not a member of ICF’s winter share? By snagging some from our food hub! We deliver to all homes AND businesses in Burlington/Winooski/SB and offer pick-up at our hub every week. Also- we accept SNAP/EBT on all food we offer.

100% Vermont-grown/raised/crafted foods, baby. No farms no food!

This seems obvious but really, if you are able to get food from your local farmer, it’s the way to go. We have to build and sustain resilient food systems so we can continue to feed our communities and not rely on global supply chains that are disrupted by events out of our control. We are already seeing these disruptions - hello, covid, climate change (pepper and broccoli in November for example), wars, et cetera - and they’re not about to go away. Your dollar can and does impact local farms. Buy direct if you can, and/or buy from your local grocer (like us) if you can. Both are equally great options - diversified sales channels for farms provide different benefits and economic stability. (Retail = more gross $ but more work to move many small orders. Wholesale = less gross $ but less work to move large volumes of harvests quickly.)

Okay go enjoy that broccoli. Also: if you’re reading this and are experiencing challenges getting enough food, click the link in our bio to sign up for the thanksgiving Fair Share free csa pick-up, or come by every Monday for free meals from everyone eats, or send us an email at [email protected] to set up EBT payments for the food hub. Or DM us - we are here to answer any questions!

SUGARLOAAAF has arrived in time for !!! Behold her in all her glory!!

This is a very exciting time of year and we are psyched to participate in chicory week by offering radicchio and sugarloaf in our produce packages next week! Theyre from and (plz see second foto for harvest reference) and are perfectly crunchy and bitter.

🧁Sugarloafs are slightly milder and sweeter than the rest of their family tree, and are lovely in salads, grilled, or braised.

Currently available in our market:

🪁indigo radicchio - round and cute and tasty

🌹treviso - super crunchy, curly, and long

🧁 sugarloaf - sweet n nice n green

We’ll be posting a video this weekend featuring our favorite way to prepare chicory. Follow along at for fantastic events, including a reading of “the very bitter radicchios” by our VERY OWN Georgi! (We are so proud 🥲)

GOSH DARN we’ve got some GOODS from !

🏆 King Koginut, ruler of all squash. Oozes honey goo when roasted, we need not say more.

🌾 Milky Oats. Also oozes goo, but more importantly makes you feel nice and balanced when you sip it in a tea. You can also steep your whole body in it to sooth stressed skin.

🪴 Lavender. Is known for calming properties but is also ridiculously strong 💪 so use buds sparingly when cooking. Goes nicely with lemon and honey and black pepper.

OK that’s it enjoy go get em we don’t have a lot!!

SHUUUK 🔥🔥🔥

🧐 ARE you looking for a fresh, pretty easy, kinda fast meal ???

🤔 ARE you looking for a way to enjoy a lot of tomatoes and peppers and onions peas season???

🤨DO you love fresh herbs and feta???

🤩Make shakshuka. For breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

You’re gonna cook sliced peppers and onions low and slow in a big skillet till soft.

Add some minced garlic, cayenne, cumin, and paprika. Let em permeate your house with delicious smells for one minute, then add a whole slew of rough chopped tomatoes.

Sim-simmer for 10 minish, stir in some crumbled feta, crack some eggs on top, and finish in the oven for 10 min at 375F.

Serve with your favorite bread (seeded baguette from Red Hen Baking Co.] pictured here) and a healthy topping of cilantro.

Okay enjoy!! Pro tip if you’re busy, make the saucy part in advance (a big ol batch if you’re smart), and use whenever you’re craving some warm, spiced stew.

🍇 GOOD GOLLY, THERE’S GRAPES! 🍇

Courtesy of our fruit farming friends at , there are gorgeous green grapes available in our market!

These are hardy, strapping grapes that thrive in a wide range of temperatures (like the ones we have in VT). Because of their fortitude, this variety was originally dubbed “Brian” (because, um, we guess all Brians are really strong and everyone knows that???) but everyone ALSO knows grapes CANNOT have male names, so Brianna it became! And Brianna, we salute! 🫡

They have a slightly tropical 🌴 flavor (kinda pineappley??) and are RATHER juicy and sweet! We’ve got a limited amount so swing on over to the shop and snag some for yourself!

Happy snacking :)

🍉 🍉

Remember those watermelons we got from last week? Well, today we moseyed down the road to the diggers’ watermelon patch and joined our coworkers for a little watermelon glean!

Our team shares our space (aka the dairy barn) with Hannah, Lena, and Nora, the Food Access team. They coordinate with local farms to source produce that’s unable to make its way to market. (Maybe it’s funny looking and challenging to harvest, wash, or pack. Or maybe there’s not enough hands on deck to harvest a bumper crop of LARGE watermelons before they get too ripe.) Instead of returning to the soil, this produce is harvested by the Food Access team and crews of volunteers (like the fine folks from who joined today). It is then briefly stored in our shared cooler before being distributed at no cost to those in our community who need it.

Just as we have pick-up each Wednesday, the Fair Share free CSA pick-up happens every Monday, with over 200 families served each week! (Needless to say, there is a LOT of activity in our little building this time of year.)

If you or someone you know could benefit from free fresh produce, spread the word and/or send us a message! The is committed to distributing food throughout our community and supporting the local farms who feed us, whether through gleaning or strengthening markets (that’s our part). For those of you who are Food Hub members, know your dollars are being directly reinvested into a local food system that is working hard to sustain all members of our community. THANK you for your part in this!
