To Our Beloved Barlow’s Clam Shack Family,
This is one of the hardest messages we’ve ever had to write.
After many beautiful seasons together, we’ve made the incredibly bittersweet decision not to reopen Barlow’s Clam Shack this year. Skip and Diane are stepping away to focus on their health and well-being, and after a lifetime of hard work, they’ve earned the time to rest, heal, and take care of themselves the way they’ve always taken care of others.
At the same time, Emma has stepped into her own adventure, pursuing her passion in the hospitality world after graduating from college. Watching her grow and take her first steps into this next chapter has been one of our greatest joys.
This decision hasn’t come easy. Barlow’s has been more than just a seasonal spot — it’s been our life, our home, and our heart. And that’s all because of YOU. Over the years, you’ve shown up not just as customers, but as friends, neighbors, and extended family. You’ve supported us through storms, long lines, and hot summer days. You’ve shared your stories, your laughter, and your lives with us.
The truth is, we wouldn’t be who we are without you. You’ve given us a gift we’ll never be able to repay — the chance to serve this incredible community and be a small part of your summers.
Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. For every visit, every kind word, and every moment of support. We will carry the memories we made together for the rest of our lives.
With love, gratitude, and a few tears,
The Barlow’s Clam Shack Family
