Sometimes I'll post something vague, like "if you know you know" with a nondescript pic and no other explanation.

Then someone says "it would help if you told us"...

and I get that.

But sometimes being intentionally vague helps us keep from selling out too fast, often by making sure people who DO know, know...y'know?

Anyway, we are having this soup tomorrow, and I trust that you guys who know obviously know, and if you don't know, then if you follow more posts you'll be in the know.

Just a heads up, we are going out of town for a weekend trip with our daughter, so we will be closed this coming Saturday.

We have a couple more days this year we will be closing for pretty serious medical procedures, but nothing to worry about, just a heads up.

Now you will just have to come extra this week to make up for it, huh?

By the way, Wednesday's Special is the Blackened Shrimp Po-Boy!

It's served on grilled French bread (Lidenheimer, to be specific) , with tomatoes, sliced onion, our Southwest Coleslaw, Homemade Remoulade and a whole slew of blackened seasoned shrimp.

The things I do...

We just made the beautiful drive up to Green Forrest to pick up some more C***r, as well as the current crop of Arkansas Grown Apples from A&A Orchards!

This haul includes Granny Smith, Winesap, Winecrisp, Gold Rush, and of course Arkansas Black.

While we were there we stopped to Visit War Eagle Mill to pick up some of their fine fare, and for the first time, visit this stunning historic location!

There are two pages for the separate sides of the company, so if you're interested in the restaurant, the mill as a destination, and upcoming events, go check out their page, where they will be posting more and more in the coming months.

This week is their Craft Fair, so if you want to check it out, its a great time to do so.

We will have all of the above listed varieties available in Pea Farm Market on Monday morning, so come see us from 10am-6pm, or Tuesday-Friday 8am-6pm, or Saturday 8-3.

Pea Farm Market has locally grown Sweet Potatoes, Salad Turnips (which are delicious), Pablano Peppers, Marconi Sweet Peppers, and Cherry Tomatoes from The Firelight Farm today!

We also just got Arkansas Grown varieties of Lentils, as well as Pink Beans, Black Beans and more from Ralston Family Farms, along with their amazing rice varieties.

We also just got these pure cain syrup derived sugar loaves, made in the traditional method of wooden molds, and wrapped in craft paper, which are a whopping 4 pounds each!

Just break the wax seal, and scrape or cut off how ever much you need, then use like regular table sugar.

The Market is OPEN until 6pm Monday-Friday, 3pm on Saturday, Closed Sunday.

Tomorrow looks a bit warm for soup, so I'm genuinely curious, because I don't want to make a huge quantity of this if it doesn't sell well, so here goes...

If we make a metric ton of Crawfish Chowder tomorrow (that's Thursday, jic) are you guys coming to tear it up, or what?

The last thing we wanna do is pass up an opportunity to make a nice "Warm Weather" Special, to instead create this delicious and hearty Chowder, only realizing our mistake in the sweltering midst of a late noon surge of Salad sales.

So let us know, but the plan so far is Chowder.

Also, pie. And plenty of it.

For Wednesday, in anticipation of Summer 2.0, we took a look back in time to see what Specials we had done on previous unseasonably warm October days.

The Sandwich we landed on was the all time winner of the second most popular Special we've ever done:

The Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich

The Honey Ginger Balsamic glaze is a perfect compliment to the fresh Smoked Pineapple and Grilled Chicken. Some locally grown Bibb lettuce and a little dab of Garlic Aioli on a large Hawaiian sweet bun.

We will also have everyone's third favorite dessert, Pumpkin Muffins!
