ATTENTION STUDENTS!

We all know how hard school can be. We also know how hard our kids work to do well, make good grades, and balance school, friendships, sports, clubs, jobs, family, and everything else life throws at them.

To the students: we see you. We see the late nights, the early mornings, the studying, the pressure, the effort, and the determination it takes to keep showing up and doing your best. We are so proud of you, and we want to show our appreciation for all of your hard work.

If you are in 9th–12th grade and have a B+ average or higher, bring your report card in to Calhoun Coffee and choose anything you want for lunch — and your meal is on the house!

This is for students attending:

Gordon Central
Calhoun
NGCA
Sonoraville

Keep striving, keep focused, and keep doing amazing things. You are the future, and we are cheering you on!

A friendly but heartfelt request: Please do not dump your personal trash, construction trash, party trash… ANY trash in the downtown dumpsters. They are for downtown businesses only. - which everyone knows it is illegal to dump their trash in business dumpsters.

I typically wouldn’t come on here to say anything because we do our best to try and help anywhere and everywhere needed, but this has been an ongoing issue week after week for the past year. Every time, my employees and I are left cleaning up the mess. And when I say mess I mean household trash like NASTY dirty diapers, old household food, used feminine products, construction nails and screws that get in our tires.. you name it.

The dumpsters are right outside our kitchen door, so the trash and food scattered around the back entrance affect our business directly—and attract bugs and rodents. We are paying to have our shop sprayed three times a month, inside and out, as a preventative measure.

When the dumpsters are full, please don’t stack trash on top or leave it beside them. The trash company will not come back to pick up items that fall or get knocked over, and we completely understand that.

And yes, we have addressed this with the city and have been working with the them on this for a year. They’re trying to arrange gates with keyed access, but we don’t know when that will happen.

In the meantime, we’re pleading with our locals: please stop dumping trash in these dumpsters. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep the area clean.

We also understand times are VERY hard for a lot of people who may not be able to spend the extra money on taking your things to the landfill, if this is the case, PLEASE come inside and ask for the owner and I will personally make sure you have money to get your household trash to the dump!

Below are only a SMALL glimpse of what we deal with on an every other week basis.

And YES, we have security cameras, and several videos of people dumping. Including a gentleman last night dumping a truck bed full of stuff. But we’re not posting the videos -this is just a heads up that going forward, we will be posting videos of people dumping 😫

❤️❤️ATTENTION CUSTOMERS, FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS! ❤️❤️

It’s that time of year again! We’re beginning to collect donations for our annual Christmas event at the restaurant, and this year will mark three years of opening our doors to our community. ❤️

If you have gently used items you no longer need, please consider donating:
• Clothing
• Shoes
• Blankets
• Jackets and coats
• Tents
• Sleeping bags
• Other clean, useful items
Donations can be dropped off anytime during our business hours at the restaurant between now and Christmas Eve.

*** For those who may be new here, every Christmas we welcome the homeless, the hungry, our neighbors, friends, anyone who doesn’t want to be alone, or anyone who simply wants to enjoy a meal surrounded by friendly faces.

We provide food for everyone, and fill our dining room with full clothing racks, blankets, tents, and sleeping bags for anyone who may need them.
This event is incredibly close to our hearts, and we’re grateful for every donation, share, and helping hand. Together, we can make Christmas a little warmer, brighter, and more welcoming for our community. We hope you’ll join us in making year three something truly special!

Even if you have no donations, a share on this post will be just as helpful spreading the word!!
