Spent the last few days at the FTO Expo talking with food truck owners, operators, and industry professionals and honestly, the conversations meant more to me than anything else.
I heard stories about:
• 16 hour days
• Constant equipment stress
• Thin margins
• Trying to grow while still surviving week to week
• Owners wearing every hat imaginable — operator, accountant, mechanic, marketer, manager
What stood out most was this:
The need is real.
Again and again, people described the exact problems that led me to build StallBit in the first place: Understanding profitability before committing to events, tracking margins, controlling costs, and having clearer operational visibility without needing a finance background.
This expo validated a lot and sparked ways of improving StallBit!
Not because people said “cool idea,” but because operators immediately understood the problem being solved. Many were already trying to manage these challenges with spreadsheets, notes apps, memory, or pure instinct.
To everyone who took time to talk with me, share feedback, challenge ideas, and encourage the vision — thank you.
Food truck owners are some of the hardest working entrepreneurs out there, and I’m more convinced than ever that they deserve better operational tools built specifically for their world.
A lot more work ahead. But this week was an important step.
