This has been a very tumultuous week here at the Cafe. Due to circumstances completely beyond our control we have had to close our doors.
Several months back we were given the opportunity to merge the business with Carson Hot Springs which offered our customers a beautiful and newer environment to dine in. I sold the business to the new property manager (future owner) of CHS after he reached out to me. Norm believed it was in the communities best interest to bring in an already established business that carried its own customer base.
Norm showed his determination immediately after we came to an agreement, him and his team alongside my girls and I busted their butts to get the kitchen scrubbed and ready for us to move in. They worked with us for 4 afternoons to get it ready and we were open and running on the 5th day!! That is some serious work, hauling out old equipment, bringing in new equipment, setting up and stocking the food supply, and making sure we were comfortable in our new place.
The 1st night we were open Norm was in there washing dishes and mopping floors, it showed me that this man is the real thing, he's willing to work in the trenches with his employees and that in itself speaks volumes about his loyalty to his employees and customers.
In just the few months we have been there I have seen Norm lift the entire establishment and all of its employees to levels of improvement that CHS desperately needed. He made us all WANT to work, he inspired us all to do the absolute best we could because we followed his lead, he led by example and he set a damn fine example.
We hold out hope that there is still a future for all of us at CHS and when that day comes we will all be back with even more determination to make CHS everything it has the potential to be and then some.
We will miss all of you until then........we're not done yet.
