❤️🍔 WE NEED YOUR HELP, EASTERN IOWA! 🍔❤️
This isn't the easiest post for us to make, but sometimes even the hardest-working small businesses need a helping hand from the community they love serving.
Since starting Sliderlicious Sliders, we've poured our hearts, countless hours, and everything we can into building something special right here in Cedar Rapids.
🚚 In August 2025, our journey took an unexpected turn. A trailer accident took our beloved food truck off the road. But instead of giving up, we kept pushing forward, expanded our catering services, and established our home inside NewBo City Market.
We were making great progress toward rebuilding our food truck and getting back out into the communities we've missed serving.
Unfortunately, we recently experienced another devastating setback when approximately $4,000 in unauthorized transactions involving our business banking information disrupted the progress we'd worked so hard to make.
💔 WHAT ABOUT GETTING THAT MONEY BACK?
We are actively working with our financial institution to recover the disputed funds, and there is a possibility that the money will eventually be reimbursed.
However, the investigation and reimbursement process could extend beyond our critical November 1 deadline.
Even if those funds are eventually returned, the delay could cause us to lose our scheduled food truck rebuild opportunity and force us to wait until August 2027. In the meantime, we must also continue covering employee payroll, inventory, and everyday operating expenses.
That's why we're asking for community support now rather than waiting for the banking dispute to be resolved.
We also want to be completely transparent with everyone who supports us. If our financial institution successfully reimburses the disputed funds, we will provide an update to our supporters explaining how those recovered funds will be used to support Sliderlicious and its ongoing operations.
But we're not giving up. ❤️
🚨 WHY NOVEMBER 1ST IS SO IMPORTANT!
We have a company lined up to rebuild and modify our original food truck, but we must secure the required $10,000 payment by November 1, 2026.
If we miss that deadline, their next available opening isn't until August 2027!
That could mean nearly TWO YEARS since our original accident before we even have another opportunity to get the rebuild underway.
That's why we've made the difficult decision to ask our community for help.
🎯 OUR GOFUNDME GOAL: $15,000
Here's exactly where your support will go:
🚚 $10,000 – Rebuilding and modifying our food truck
🍟 $1,500 – New commercial fryer for our NewBo location
📦 $2,000 – Food inventory and operating supplies
👨🍳 $1,500 – Supporting our employees through payroll
These funds will help us secure our food truck's future while strengthening our existing operations at NewBo City Market.
❤️ WE'RE STILL DOING OUR PART!
We're continuing to work hard every day, serving customers at NewBo, accepting catering orders, and putting our own earnings toward these goals.
We're not asking anyone to build our dream for us. We're simply asking for a helping hand to overcome some unexpected setbacks and keep moving forward.
🙏 HOW YOU CAN HELP
❤️ Donate if you're able. Whether it's $5, $10, $25, or more, every contribution brings us closer to our goal.
🔄 SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! Even if donating isn't possible, sharing this post could help our story reach someone who can.
🍔 Continue supporting our business! Visit us at NewBo City Market, order through delivery, or consider us for your next catering event.
Every order, every donation, and every share makes a difference.
❤️ A MESSAGE FROM OUR HEARTS
To everyone who has supported Sliderlicious, whether you've purchased a slider, booked an event, recommended us to a friend, or simply encouraged us along the way, THANK YOU!
We didn't start Sliderlicious just to sell burgers. We wanted to build something we could be proud of, create opportunities for others, and bring people together through great food.
We've faced challenges we never imagined when we started this journey, but we've continued fighting for what we've built.
Our employees depend on this business. Our customers have helped make it what it is today. And we still have so many goals we want to accomplish for the communities throughout Eastern Iowa.
We may have been knocked down a few times, but we're not finished yet! 💪❤️
We're determined to rebuild, recover, and come back stronger than ever.
If you've ever enjoyed our food, supported us at an event, or believed in what we're building, we're asking you to stand beside us during this important moment.
November 1st is approaching quickly, and your support could help make the difference between moving forward with our food truck rebuild now or waiting until August 2027.
