01/02/2023
As I step into 2023, one thing I know for sure is that our lives are lived in cycles. It has been my extreme pleasure to be your coffee roaster for nearly 17 years, and this cycle has also come to an end.
With mixed emotions, it’s time to announce that I am officially retiring from the coffee business. Between the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and changes in our family, it’s time to let our beloved coffee shop go. KelseaMae Wade and the fine people at Flourish Cafè will be taking care of your coffee needs. This month I will teach them how to roast coffee and they will be serving up the same organic, sustainable, fair trade coffee from our friends at Onyx Coffee.
Thank you for all your support over the years. Santa Lucia Coffee has been a labor of love and a massive gift to me and the kids. We have met some of the most incredible people in our lobby and I will always treasure the relationships we built. I am eternally grateful to each one of you who supported my family over the years. We have so many incredible memories of our time in this space. I’ve attached a few from the photo album that was at the shop. But there are so many more. Too many to capture here. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Now I step into the next cycle, which includes rest, more time with my amazing kids, continuing my teaching Nia at The Hive, my full time work with Island Billing and part time birth assisting at The Birth House. (Just writing this list reminds me that releasing the coffee shop is a necessary step! Whew!)
Sending my gratitude and best love to all of you. ❤️
