Bittersweet.
Today, the last of my kitchen equipment left the tea house.
Watching it leave was emotional. Every piece held memories of countless teapots being prepared, fresh food being made, and staff gathered in the kitchen laughing, joking, and getting everything ready for our customers.
I still have plenty of packing and moving to do throughout the tea house, but I wanted to give you a little update.
There are some exciting things quietly taking shape behind the scenes, and I'm hoping to share more details with you by September.
Once The Talking Teacup is completely packed up and put away, I'll be taking a little time to recharge my creative batteries before beginning my next chapter. After all, sometimes one chapter has to close before another can begin.
Just know that as I pack away each room, I find myself thinking about all of the wonderful customers who filled them with laughter, conversation, and memories. Thank you for being such a special part of this journey.

Many of you have been asking, "What's next?"

The honest answer is... I'm finally beginning to see what that next chapter might look like.

Over the past few days, I've been grieving, reflecting, and thinking about what I truly want to do while packing up The Talking Teacup and wrapping up everything that comes with closing a business. Again and again, I realized it wasn't just serving tea that I loved—it was transforming spaces into places that made people feel welcome, inspired, and excited to gather.

I'm currently working on a new decorating business focused on homes, holidays, businesses, window displays, and special events. Whether it's refreshing your everyday living space, decorating for the holidays, styling a business, staging a special event, or helping bring your Pinterest inspiration boards to life, I'm excited to begin this new journey.

I'm also continuing to research the possibility of bringing back seasonal tea pop-up experiences in the future, as well as private in-home tea experiences. There are still many details to work through—finding the right venues, securing a commercial kitchen, and working through all the logistics—so I can't promise a timeline just yet. But I know how much those experiences meant to so many of you—and to me.

One thing I do know is that **The Talking Teacup will always be part of me.** While the tea house itself has closed, I don't believe the story ends here.

Right now, I'm putting the finishing touches on the first phase of my new venture. Once everything is squared away, I'll be excited to share more details with all of you.

At the same time, I'll continue exploring how I can bring the tea experiences we've all grown to love outside the walls of The Talking Teacup and into a new chapter. Whether that's through seasonal pop-ups, private in-home tea experiences, or something entirely new, I'll be sure to keep you updated as those ideas begin to take shape.

Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and for believing in me as I begin this next chapter.

❤️ Patti

Today, we served our final tea.

For the last time, we baked our scones, prepared our tea sandwiches, created our desserts, brewed our pots of tea, and lovingly served each course.

As I looked around this weekend, I realized it was also the last time I would work alongside my incredible team—my wonderful nieces, Kylie, Ayla, Abriana, and Avalina, along with Madison, who truly became part of our family. I also want to thank Melissa, Claire, and my sisters, April and Bonnie, who stepped in whenever we truly needed an extra hand. And to all of our past Teacup employees who were part of this journey over the years, thank you. Each of you brought your own talents, kindness, laughter, and heart to The Talking Teacup. You all helped create the memories our guests experienced, and I will always be grateful for everything you gave to our guests and to me. Thank you Leeon and Kathy for your support throughout our 5 years with being our Santa/Mrs claus, table clothes, website support and so much more...you both mean alot to me and I am so grateful.

It is hard to put into words what these past five years have meant.

This little tea house became so much more than a business. It became a place where friendships were formed, milestones were celebrated, and complete strangers often left feeling like family.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every guest who walked through our doors—whether you visited us once or supported us for years. Thank you to our longtime customers who became like family, and to the many new guests who found us during these final weeks. We are so grateful you chose to spend your time with us.

Thank you for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, bridal/baby showers, book clubs, holidays, and everyday moments with family and friends. Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of so many special memories. You didn't just support a small business—you became part of our story.

These final weeks have been overwhelming in the best possible way. Seeing so many familiar faces return one last time, hearing your stories, receiving your hugs, your cards, your gifts, your flowers, and your kind words reminded me just how much The Talking Teacup meant to so many people. Those memories are gifts I will cherish forever.

As for me... I'm tired, I'm emotional, and yes, I'm ready to rest. Recovering from an injury while wearing a walking boot these last couple of weeks reminded me just how physically demanding this journey has been. I honestly don't know how I would have made it through these final weekends without my amazing staff standing beside me every step of the way.

Although this chapter is coming to an end, I leave it with a full heart. The Talking Teacup was lovingly brought back to life with creativity, care, and a dream. After being closed for two years, it was reimagined, refreshed, and reopened—not as something entirely new, but as a continuation of something special. Every smile, every conversation, every cup of tea, and every memory shared within these walls will stay with me forever.

This isn't necessarily goodbye—it's simply thank you.

I hope our paths cross again someday. Until then, thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your lives, just as you have become such a meaningful part of mine.

Thank you for believing in us.
Thank you for supporting us.
Thank you for laughing with us.
Thank you for making The Talking Teacup a place filled with warmth, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

Before I close this chapter, I'd also like to thank Eric for giving me the opportunity to bring The Talking Teacup back for a new chapter. His kindness, along with a letter from his late wife and my dear friend, Kathy, set this journey in motion, and I'll never forget that incredible gift.

And to Kathy... you are deeply missed, and you've been in my thoughts every single day I've walked through these doors over the past five years. Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me to reopen The Talking Teacup, and trusting me to continue its story in my own way.

While I made it my own—with new recipes, new traditions, and my own vision—it never would have happened without your encouragement. Thank you for reminding me that dreams are worth taking a chance on. I hope I made you proud. I also hope you know how deeply grateful I am for the opportunity you gave me, and that you would understand just how difficult this decision has been.

Because of you both, countless memories were made within these walls, and for that I will be forever grateful. I hope you're resting in peace, Kathy, and know how truly grateful I am.

From my heart to yours, thank you all.

With love and endless gratitude to each and every one of you,

❤️ Patti

🎶 WE'RE HAVING A PARTY! ☕❤️

As we enter our final month, we've decided to do things a little differently.

Over the past five years, we've created hundreds of scones, tea sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, and tea blends. We've decorated for every season imaginable and welcomed thousands of guests through our doors.

For our final weeks, we're bringing back some of our favorite creations—the recipes, flavors, and treats that we loved making the most.

And if you've visited recently, you may have noticed another change... the music. 🎶

For years, we carefully curated the atmosphere of The Talking Teacup. Now, during our farewell month, we've decided to play some of the staff's favorite songs and enjoy the journey with all of you. As Kylie recently told a guest who asked what was going on:

"We're having a party."

And maybe that's exactly what this is.

Because for five years we've celebrated life's special moments. Birthdays, friendships, anniversaries, book clubs, bridal showers, baby showers, holidays, and so many cherished memories. We decided our final month should be a celebration too.

So for these final weeks, we're choosing to celebrate the memories, the laughter, the friendships, our incredible staff, and all of the wonderful guests who have been part of this journey.

There are still reservations available throughout June if you'd like to visit one last time.

We'd love to see you. ❤️

This is our final month. The Talking Teacup will be permanently closing at the end of June.

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I share this news.

After five years of pouring my heart, creativity, energy, and life into The Talking Teacup, I have made the heartbreaking decision that June will be our final month open.

This decision has not come easily. For months, I have wrestled with it, hoping things would improve and searching for a way to continue. Like many small businesses, we have experienced periods where reservations have not been strong enough to keep pace with the continually rising costs of food, supplies, utilities, payroll, insurance, and other operating expenses. Combined with the physical and emotional demands of running a small business, I have reached a point where I can no longer sustain The Talking Teacup in its current form.

Many people see the beautiful tea house, the seasonal décor, the food, the tea, and the special events. What they don't always see are the long days and late nights, the countless hats that come with owning a small business, and the behind-the-scenes struggles to keep this beautiful tea house open for all of us to enjoy.

In today's challenging economy, the financial, physical, and emotional toll has simply become more than I can continue to carry. This was not a decision I wanted to make, but one I ultimately had to make.

This decision is not being made because I no longer love what I do. Quite the opposite. The Talking Teacup has never been just a business to me. It has been a dream, a creative outlet, a gathering place, and a place where memories were made. Every room, every menu, every event, every cup of tea, and every detail was created with love.

I am incredibly grateful to every guest who walked through our doors, celebrated a birthday, shared tea with friends, attended a special event, or made The Talking Teacup part of their story. Thank you for supporting a small business and allowing me to be part of so many special moments.

I am also deeply grateful to my staff, who worked tirelessly alongside me to create the warm and welcoming experience our guests have come to know and love. Their dedication, hard work, and care for our guests have meant more than words can express.

While this chapter may be coming to an end, I am not ready to say this is goodbye forever. My hope is that someday, in some form, The Talking Teacup may find a way to return. Whether through special events, pop-ups, or something entirely new, I am holding onto that hope.

For now, I invite you to join us during our final month as we celebrate the memories, friendships, and experiences that have made these past five years so special. If you have been meaning to visit, return one more time, or share a final tea experience with someone special, we would be honored to welcome you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives and your celebrations. It has truly been an honor.

With love and gratitude,

Patti
