The celebrity DJ’s clients such as the NBA, Gumball 3000, Viacom & The Get Schooled Foundation keep him constantly busy but Dallas still finds time to bring his passion for fresh food to life. The Harlem native has enjoyed cooking for most of his adult life, but Dallas’ passion for food grew exponentially while traveling around the world. His interest was piqued by the savory flavors and presentat
ion of fine dining, which led to him to begin exploring different cooking techniques. While touring the world Dallas has met gourmet chefs from places like Copenhagen, Moscow, Johannesburg and Monaco. After realizing he was truly passionate about food the chefs would coach the eager learner within Dallas. This newly sparked passion inspired him to audition for Fox’s 2013 MasterChef Cooking Show. After making it thru all rounds of the audition process and while waiting for the call back to fly to Los Angeles, Dallas decided to put his talents to use by baking desserts and catering private events. Dallas, the ambitious entrepreneur, is now the owner of Made From Scratch, a gourmet dessert company. Dallas prides himself on using the finest ingredients and putting love into every single treat that he makes by hand. His signature-jarred cheesecakes, offered with a variety of toppings, have quickly become the latest craze. Brownie cookies and the newly popular chocolate covered bacon all help make Made From Scratch a success. In 2014, Dallas is partnering with Jamestown, L.P., the owner and developer of the Chelsea Market, to give his company a home inside their newly acquired Falchi Building in Long Island City, New York. The Made From Scratch shop will be open Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm, where patrons can purchase, taste, and even pick up online orders. Dallas will continue to build his brand in a partnership with Shecky’s Girls Night Out. Shecky’s female only event is widely known across the US and presents Dallas the opportunity to put smiles on hundreds of faces with the presentation of his signature cheesecakes and other exclusive baked goods created specifically for Shecky’s. Made From Scratch, the new fresh name for dessert, is off to a great start and will rapidly reach new heights.
