And everyone of them, all they said was "Merry Christmas".
WOW! Our neighbors! This is a tad lengthy but so worth the read!

On my way home from work last night I hit some black ice on a fairly isolated road. I wasn’t distracted or going fast, just unfortunate timing. After losing complete control, I ended up so deep in snow that I wasn’t able to open my driver side door. As I was on the phone with my insurance company to get someone to pull me out, a woman and her son and step son drove past, turned back around and asked if I’d like help. I don’t accept help easily so I hesitated a bit but she insisted.
Without hesitation, they were out in the elements hooking up my car, digging tires out, and freezing their keestors off. She was able to pull me out quite a bit, but not to the point I could get fully out. So, along came another truck. He also helped, but still not enough. Another man drove by in his work truck and offered. He said he’d be back with his personal truck in no time to help. Sure enough, he came back and secured his truck along with the woman’s truck, and pulled me out. No damage to Vivian (my car) or me, except a nagging headache today.
I don’t know who these amazing people were, but I do know that they have the most generous hearts. I begged each one of them for their names so I could thank them properly, but one by one they refused and just wished me a Merry Christmas. I gave the woman’s son a piece of paper and a pen to write down her information thinking I’d for sure get that, but again, nope. On that piece of paper was a simple note…”Merry Christmas. God bless.”
So, to the woman and her son and step son who live north of me on Montgomery, thank you doesn’t even begin to express my gratitude!! Without you stopping, who knows if anyone else would have seen me and my car. You and your sons were an absolute blessing!!! Merry Christmas!!
To the older gentleman who lives way north on Dalton, thank you for stopping and staying even though you could have left at any given time!! Thank you for your comfort and gentle demeanor in a stressful situation!! It’s seldom you see selflessness like yours, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind soul!! Merry Christmas!!!
To another unknown man who took it upon himself to stop and offer his special tow straps, and was the voice to each of us who were behind a wheel. Your strap, and your leadership, were the ultimate reason we all were able to get in our cars and go home for the night. A job completed until the end! Thank you for taking lead and being the voice!! You made a difference! Merry Christmas!!!
To the man who lives on Crawford Street, and works for Moser, thank you for driving all the way home only to turn around with your personal truck to work along side of the woman…your willingness to literally go out of your way to come help make sure I got out, well, thank you just doesn’t nearly express how much I appreciate you!!! Merry Christmas!!!
To every other person who slowed down to check on me and the others, each of you were a blessing! Just being willing to take the time to make sure everyone was safe showed an immense amount of caring. Your kindness did not go unnoticed!! Merry Christmas!!!
What originally was an incredibly stressful situation turned into something so remarkably beautiful that I couldn’t not share. Be the person who stops to check on someone. Be the woman who takes time out of her day. Be the person to make sure people feel appreciated. Most importantly, please be careful out on those roads this holiday season♥️
Love to all of you!!!
With a grateful heart, Lindy
