A few years ago, I never would have imagined bread becoming a regular part of our family’s life again.

But what started as a way to feed my own family has become a reminder that good food doesn’t have to be complicated. Just simple ingredients, slow fermentation, and time.

I love seeing bread become part of everyday life again, not as something reserved for special occasions, but as something shared around a table, delivered to a friend, torn apart by kids at the counter or enjoyed by people who thought bread was no longer an option for them.

That’s the kind of bread I want to make.

I don’t really think of our sourdough sandwich loaf as a “special occasion” bread.

I think of it as the bread that simply belongs in your kitchen.

The loaf you reach for to make school lunches, morning toast, grilled cheese, French toast on Saturday, or to go alongside soup for dinner. The loaf you tuck into the freezer so it’s ready for busy weeks or family vacations.

Made with simple, minimal ingredients and naturally fermented, it’s for families who want to know what’s in their food and make good bread part of everyday life.

My hope isn’t that you buy a loaf every once in a while.
It’s that Salt becomes your weekly bread, the one that’s always on the counter, or waiting in the freezer, ready to feed the people you love.

I absolutely love this idea. 🤍

These loaves are headed to a sweet mama-to-be’s baby shower, not for the table, but as gifts for the hostesses.

There’s something so meaningful about giving a gift that can be gathered around and shared with family. A simple loaf of bread feels like a little way of saying, “Thank you for loving and serving others.”

I think fresh bread might just be one of my favorite ways to celebrate people.

Pre-orders are open Sunday & Monday, and I highly recommend ordering ahead this week. I’ll have limited quantities available at the market, so pre-ordering is the best way to make sure your favorites are waiting for you.

A couple scheduling notes for the next few weeks:
• I will not be at the Farmers Market on June 20th. That week will be pre-orders only, with pickup at The Florist in Chelsea on Wednesday, June 17th.
• Salt will be closed the week of June 21st for some much-needed quality family time and rest.

Good food starts with good ingredients. My favorite almond milk = Malk.
Mo and I used to make our own almond milk, cashew milk & cashew coffee creamer (sooooo good) with an Almond Cow. But y’all, the amount I needed for bulk baking, it was going to take me forever to milk those almond 😅
Then we found Malk 🙌🏻 it’s 3 ingredients in this bottle! Almonds, water, salt (even pink Himalayan salt and you know that’s my thing!). That’s all that’s needed!
So we you enjoy our cinnamon rolls, know you’re getting the good stuff.

There is something beautiful about the simplicity of this.

A loaf of bread. Broken and shared.

This loaf is being used by a small group of women gathering for Bible study and communion together. As I prepared it, I couldn’t help but think that the Lord’s Supper in the early church likely looked far more like this than the tiny pieces and cups we’re accustomed to today. Ordinary bread from everyday tables, broken among believers as they remembered the extraordinary sacrifice of Christ.

And He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19

Women gathered around Scripture. Hearts turned toward the Lord. Bread broken in remembrance. There is something deeply moving about believers sharing communion together, proclaiming the goodness of God and remembering the body that was broken and the blood that was shed for us.

A simple loaf reminds me that some of the most sacred moments happen not in grand places, but around ordinary tables with open Bibles, grateful hearts, and a Savior who promised to be with us.

May we never lose the wonder of remembering Him.
